PRP Joints

PRP therapy is a natural treatment that stimulates the body’s innate ability to heal and enhance itself. PRP stands for platelet rich plasma, which is a component of blood that contains high amounts of platelets, growth factors, and healing substances. What To Expect

Our doctors are highly trained in regenerative medicine and orthopedics, ensuring the administration of PRP Joint Injections as a pain-free way to provide lasting results. Our medical team will first look at any patient-provided imaging, followed by a physical examination of the affected area(s). We then collect a sample of your blood, separate the blood components in a machine called a centrifuge, and extract the PRP from the sample.

The next step is to disinfect the surrounding skin and inject a dextrose and lidocaine numbing solution into the injured area to ensure comfort (prolotherapy). Lastly, the doctor will inject the PRP into the injured area to introduce the growth factors and stimulate the healing response. When you book an appointment at LIVV, we provide you with pre and post care guides to assist you in gaining the best results from your treatment.

You can expect feelings of numbness, soreness, and fullness around the treated area from 12-24 hours typically. The affected area should resolve and improve in pain, structure, and function within 4 weeks.
